Finished reading this book.

Author served as Indian high commissioner to Pakistan from 2017 to 2020. This book is a product of in-depth research by the author on India-Pakistan relations from the view of a diplomat based on his discussions & interactions with PMs, HMs, FMs, foreign and past diplomats and his own study.

For people who didn't live during the partition years and in post-independence years, who are wondering why India and Pakistan are still fighting for Kashmir and on border issues even 75 years after independence and partition, this can be one of the books that can provide necessary clarity.

What are the reasons issues are not settled even after 75 years?

Was the partition necessary?

Was the partition done properly with lots of thought? Or was it done in a hurry by the leaving British and few Indian and Muslim leaders?

How can a country (Pakistan) has two different pieces of land (West Pakistan & East Pakistan now Bangladesh) separated geographically by hundreds of miles by an adversary country (India)? How East Pakistan became Bangladesh.

It’s definitely an eye-opener for me.
