Author explains what went wrong with capitalism in US and other developed Europeans countries. U.S debt, U.S fiscal deficit as a % of GDP has been increasing continuously because of near zero interest rates and virtually free money.

US Fed reserve created billions of dollars & later trillions of dollars of easy money, by buying all kinds of bonds & releasing money into the system. Bailouts by US govt. didn’t allow weak companies to go bankrupt. Even weak companies survived time and again. Markets didn’t correct enough. Productivity didn’t improve over time. High GDP growth (US) is because of high govt. debt and easy money in US. Recessions have become shorter & less severe, across the developed world.

Author also explains how and why capitalism has been working wonderfully in some European countries such as Switzerland, Sweden and Asian country Taiwan.

Over all a good read.
